2014 World Series - Game 4 - A's 4, Cardinals 0

Game 4:  Kazmir vs. Wacha
A's 4, Cardinals 0

Down three games to zilch, it was laughable to even imagine Oakland winning the series.  They were just trying to save face here, and get a win in the series.

We pick it up top 3, after a lead off double by Eric Sogard, your favorite breakfast cereal and mine, Coco Crisp laces a single to left; 1-0, A's.

Top 4 -- After another leadoff two bagger, Oakland threatens again.  Two out, Brandon Moss on third, and Jed Lowrie singles him in, doubling up the Red Birds,

Scott Kazmir, rising to the occasion...here he is, striking out Michael Wacha, he's through five with a shutout.

Top 6, Oakland extends the lead...one of the Athletic's unsung heroes of the post season, Stephen Vogt, sends a poke to right, extending the lead to three nothing.

Kazmir continues to deal -- through 7 with the shutout intact.

Visiting 8th, Brandon Moss turns on a first pitch hanging slider from Seth Maness.  Over the right field wall...4-0 Elephants.

To the home 8th, Kazmir still in there.  The Cards mounting their first offensive of the night.  runners on first and second for John Jay....rips a single to right, rounding third is Grichuk to score...NOT TODAY says Brandon Moss...he guns him down at the plate to keep the shutout alive.  Kazmir done after 7 2/3, gets hand shakes in the dugout.  On comes Luke Gregerson for the final out of the 8th,

He'd work an uneventful 9th for the save, and to keep Oakland on life support.

Oakland 4, St. Louis 0.
Cardinals Leads 3-1.
